I showed you guys my hair in its natural state on my Instagram Stories. Immediately you guys started asking how I do an at home blow out. Before I dish all the secrets, let me tell you about my hair type. I have coarse, curly and wavy hair. My hair is dry and I use a deep conditioner on it 2-3 times a week. This deep conditioner is my hands down favorite. It smooths my hair, nourishes it and makes the coarse silky.
If you want an extra laugh, here is a picture of my amazing hair. The picture is from an Instagram story so the quality is about the same as my hair. Horrible!

Hair Oil
I love these hair oils. I do 2-3 pumps into the palm of my hand and rub it from the middle of my hair down to the ends. Oils are a more natural moisturizer rather than using a silicon anti frizz serum which will end up drying out your hair in the long run. I have used the products below for years now and always go back to them. FYI- If you are using Moroccan Oil serum and have blonde hair pick the “light” label. The original serum will cause your hair to turn brassy.
***Life Hack***
If my skin is really dry or I want that sheen all the models have on their legs I will rub a bit of hair oil on the fronts of my shins and thighs.
Blow Dryer
My top tip for buying a blow dryer that won’t fry your hair for an at home blow out is to make sure it blows a ton of air without getting too hot. I have both of these blow driers and they are amazing.
Splurge- T3
Equipped with multiple heat/speed settings, a Volume Booster switch, and Auto Pause Sensor that intuitively halts airflow. When you lay down the dryer it turns off and then turns back on when you pick it up!
Save- Babyliss
My top pick. This baby will dry your hair in no time! The negative ions generated by the dryer will remove any static electricity in the hair and close the cuticle for smooth, shiny results.
Round Brush
My hair dresser sold me on these round brushes and I’ve used them ever since. I like the round brush because it really grips the root of my hair and pulls the curly hair straight.
Paddle Brush
To save time I use the paddle brush on the underneath and back section of my hair. It grabs more hair than the round brush and I can manipulate it faster through my hair while blow drying. It is also a great overall brush to have.
Curling Iron
Personally I used the Hot Tools curling iron for years and loved it. I would highly recommend it. T3 sent me their curling iron last year and I have been using it ever since. I do like the coated barrel and how quickly it heats up. If you are in the market to splurge, the T3 is worth the money. If you want a good quality curling iron but don’t want to break the bank, you can’t go wrong with Hot Tools.
Hair Spray
I’m not into fancy hair sprays. I use a lot of hairspray! The heat and humidity in Houston will kill any hair do in seconds! I typically use the L’oreal El Net spray first and then comb through my hair with my fingers. Then I will add a second layer with the Treseme Level 4 hairspray.
