Happy Monday! Did everyone have a great weekend? Who got out all of their fall decorations? I love the time of fall transitions. Everything around us changes from soaking up the sun at the beach or lake to buying pumpkins, burning fall scented candles and pulling out a jacket for those cool nights on the patio. I love moving all of my summer clothes to the back of the closet and moving all of my fall clothes to the front. Texas has some extremely hot days, so to be able to move those tank tops to the back and know that I won’t be sweating 24/7 is a great feeling! Last week the temps dropped here and I rushed out to Bath & Body Works for my favorite fall candle, Brown Sugar Allspice (seriously go get it ASAP), lit it and began the great fall clothing swap of 2015.
One of my favorite looks is a simple dress paired with a utility jacket (which are all the rage this year) and a light scarf. I found the perfect combo at Old Navy this year. They have had some fun prints and easy to wear styles that are great for people on the go. I am a mom on the go with two little ones. For me, I like to look put together, but I also have to wear clothing that is washable and hides the lovely stains from when my kids decide to wipe their mouths and use my clothes as a napkin. This floral dress has the perfect fall print and I love that it has a fitted waist and flared skirt because I have hips and it works well to accentuate my good parts . The spaghetti straps also made me happy because I automatically knew it could be a great dress when it comes time to transition into spring. The MUST HAVE utility jacket or utility vest is super hot this season and for good reason. They are light weight, the military green color acts as a neutral so it pairs well with almost anything and the drawstrings give you that defined waist. I have two utility jackets because I wear them often and love to wear them when I travel or to early morning soccer games with the kids. I also found this awesome scarf in the workout section. It is a thin, breathable material and adds that extra something. Plus, when can you wear a scarf with your outfit and then to workout?!?! I hope you are enjoying the fall transition and drinking or eating a plethora of pumpkin spice everything!
Happy Fall Ya’ll!
