Nordstrom has all the best basics for the best fall outfit. Today I wanted to share how I am taking these basics up a notch. I stepped out of my comfort zone and added a few pieces that I can’t get enough of now! You can also see how I layered my basic pieces here.
This sweater is the softest thing since bunny tails. I also have it in pink ( see it here) but love the green for fall and winter. The cut bell sleeves are my favorite detail. I am wearing a small.
I also got these distressed raw hem jeans in Dallas for under $70 and is perfect for any fall outfit. Does Dallas have all the best stuff or what? They fit snug at first and stretched out a bit so the fit perfectly!

FELT HAT
I have never owned a felt hat! As a “blogger” this is probably a mortal sin. I stepped out of that comfort zone and tried one on while in Dallas a few weeks ago. Not only did I love this Fall outfit accessory but it covered my grown out roots and three days of greasy hair.
OVER THE KNEE BOOTS aka OTK BOOTS
Booties are pretty much my jam when it comes to my basic fall outfit. Again, stepping outside the box, I added these otk boots and they were so fun! I also love wearing these otk boots with my Spanx faux leather leggings. I bought my usual boot size nine and they fit perfectly. The low heel makes the very comfortable for walking around and everyday wear. These are also so cute with plaid shirt dresses for winter!
LONG STATEMENT NECKLACE
I typically gravitate towards shorter, chunkier necklaces. Back in Dallas, I saw this long disc necklace and knew it would make any basics pop. I have honestly worn this necklace everyday for a week and can’t get enough of it. It is simple, lightweight and perfect for jazzing up a solid sweater or long sleeve tee.
