This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Walgreens. The opinions and text are all mine.
I was asked by Carusele to participate in the #WalgreensBeauty campaign sponsored by Walgreens. Although I have been compensated, all opinions are my own.
Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I don’t know about you but I have been going a million miles a minute. As a mom we often put ourselves last in order to take care of our kids, spouses, pets and jobs. Next thing you know the dark circles under your eyes are down to your chin and you feel like a walking zombie.
This Mother’s Day I want to challenge you to take even a few hours for yourself to decompress, watch those shows that have piled up on the DVR, put some lotion on and a face mask and unwind. If your mom or mother in law lives near by, invite them over for an afternoon of mom time and enjoy YOUR day!
4 WAYS TO PAMPER YOURSELF ON MOTHER’S DAY:
1. At Home Spa: As much as I love going to a spa, they can be pretty pricey. I love running down the street to Walgreens and picking up a few of their Walgreen’s brand beauty products. Of course I end up with an entire cart full of other goodies too! Grab a new Walgreens body wash, lotion, face mask and some razors from their new line. They have revamped their products from the inside out and almost everything is free from parabens, phthalates and nothing is tested on animals. When you get home, take a shower ALONE! I know, sounds foreign right! I love the Walgreens exfoliating body wash. Next, I use their line of body lotion. My favorite scent is the cocoa & shea butter. It has a rich creamy feel and is perfect for my sensitive skin. You can see my other favorite Walgreen’s favorites and beauty hacks in this post.
2. Tv/Book/Movie: During the day we often have zero down time. If you’re like me, at this point you are exhausted and just fall into bed. After that luxurious shower, take two hours out of your day to be alone and read a book, watch your favorite TV show or go see a movie alone. Right now I am loving any book by Liane Moriarty.
3. Layout: I know the weather has been INSANE lately, but if you have temps over 70 grab your favorite lawn chair or beach towel and catch a few rays. BUT…don’t forget the sunscreen! Most of us are deficient in vitamin D and need sunlight but we also want to stay protected from the suns harmful rays. I grabbed the Walgreens Dry Touch SPF 55 the other day and love it! It is oil free and water resistant. From April-June their sunscreens are BOBO 50% off, so stock up for summer. You could even read your book while laying out for double the relaxation.
4. Nap: If reading isn’t your thing and you need to catch up on some Z’s, take a nice long nap after your shower and face mask. My secret to taking that elusive nap is to make sure the house has been cleaned up the day before. If my house is put together then I don’t feel that nagging on me.
What are your plans for Mother’s Day? What are some ways to pamper yourself that you love?
Hopefully you all can grab some “me time” and spend a bit of your day relaxing! Sending all the love and hugs to all of the moms out there who sacrifice so much for their children. You definitely deserve a day off!
