I’ll be the first to admit that when December rolls around I put my workouts aside for the hustle and bustle of shopping, parties and school activities. This year I made it a point to keep up with my fitness. The weather here in Houston can be fickle, so I decided to sign up for classes at Pure Barre in the River Oaks Shopping Center on the days it was cold or rainy. I also love the convenience of being able to work out and then finish my holiday shopping all in the same area.
If you have not been to Pure Barre before, you have to give it a try. It is the fastest, most effective way to change your body. After taking a few classes, my clothes fit better, my flexibility has improved and I am physically stronger. They have their own app which makes signing up for classes convenient and easy. Pure Barre is the perfect place to start on those early New Year’s resolutions. My instructor Taylor at Pure Barre in the River Oaks Shopping Center was so friendly and informative. They really welcome you into the class with open arms and truly love what they do. All you have to bring is a pair of socks!
Next, I went to Luke’s Locker for a new pair of running shoes. What I love about Luke’s Locker is that it is a local, family run business. Mike and Suraiya really took the time to help me find the right running shoe to fit me and my exercise needs. On the days that it is 70 and sunny, I can be outside running or taking a walk with my kids.
The River Oaks Shopping Center is the perfect place to complete your holiday shopping. From retail stores like The Gap to dining options at Café Ginger, it truly is a one stop shop. The biggest bonus- there are no crazy mall crowds and plenty of parking! I was able to fit in an amazing workout and finish my Christmas shopping, making my day stress free!

New sneakers always get me a little motivated to get back into the swing of things! I’ve also never tried Pure Barre, but maybe I should!
