I took a little break after New Year’s to get mi casa back together. I hosted Christmas this year for about 15 people. Then, we went to our friend’s ranch for New Years and they are pretty much off the grid so no blogging or Instagram was going to happen! After 10 loads of laundry from all the kids was done and the decorations were taken down we had to get my in laws dog because they were going out of town.  Two days ago, we lost electricity alllllll dayyyyy loooooong. Having no power is a really hard thing to deal with when you have two little kids. It was pretty gloomy out so we didn’t even have the sunshine to brighten up the house. We all had wet hair from previously showering and they had no light to play with their toys inside.  I finally pulled the string on the garage door and we headed to my grandmas assisted living home to hang out with her for a bit.  She enjoyed the visit but there is only so much a 91 year old can take when dealing with a two and four year old! Needless to say we survived and power was restored after 12 hours.

During the Christmas sales I found this ADORABLE LBD (little black dress) from The Gap.  It is a fit and flare which I think is so flattering and covered in these velvet raised polka dots. I wore it to dinner with my mom and she kept rubbing me saying how soft it was! Sometimes polka dots can look a little juvenile, but with the black on black tone, the dress looks classic and flirty. I personally am a little black dress addict. I have a shift, fit and flare and a dressier cocktail LBD. Little black dresses are like black shoes, you can never have too many!

I am really into all shades of pink so I paired it with my pink peep toe pumps, an iridescent necklace from J. Crew and studs from Kendra Scott. Iridescent jewelry really picks up the color you want to highlight. I felt like my necklace and earrings picked up the pop of pink from my shoes and nails to complete the look.
